How will admission officers react to my weird score?

I got a mere 590 on CR,and 720 (essay10) on Writing.
a 590 seems too low for a 720. is it weird???
I've heard that most schools put much more weight on CR than on Writing...:(
btw,I'm an int'l student, never been to US before..

Yeah, they put more weight on CR than Writing unfortunately.

I was in the same boat as you: 610 in CR and 720 in Writing on my first SAT in October. I was really disappointed in my CR score because I knew I was capable of scoring higher. So I took it again in January (no prep, just took 3-4 practice tests and mastered the art of concentration), and I got a 720 in Writing again, but a 690 in CR! I'm not trying again because a) I'm a senior and b) this is the highest I'll get.

My advice is to take the SAT over again -- it can only go up from a 590. If you're a senior like me however, there's nothing you can do. A 720 in Writing is good though, so it'll partly make up for it. Still, CR tests your ability to comprehend boring reads (like college textbooks?) so a 590 there isn't very pretty.

What kind of schools did you apply to?

thanks for the reply Eddieee,
still sad here for i'm a senior...
i'm not a big reader you know,i'm more into sciences~~~and I got 2400 on three SATIIs:Math2c,physics,chemistry.does it cause my score to make more sense??....
I applied to many lacs and brown univ, etc. does brown put much emphasis on standarized test scores??? what about duke??

and does a combined score of 2110 sound good?? thx

same thing happened to me - 570 on CR and 730 on Writing :(

AbN610,hi,we are on the same boat!!
for me,the huge vocabulary is a big problem.and I'm not a fast reader.
you know what, the test center I went to sucks!! they put Sat1 and Sat2 test takers together in one hall.i can hear clearly what the signals to Sat2 test takers were, like:you have less than 1 min.. and the hall was such a mess. they started the next section with people still in the bathroom...I was very very angry and thus distracted alot.
