How will colleges view my downward-to-upward trend?

All are weighted grades

9th grade:

1st sem 4.375

2nd sem 4.375

10th grade

1st sem 4.000

2nd sem 3.214

11th grade

1st sem 2.571 (f...)

2nd sem 3.875

12th grade

1st sem 4.714

Took 17 AP classes. Overall GPA: 3.934 weighted, 3.3 unweighted.

I actually DID get those grades.

How will the admissions officers react? 'Cause most people screw up freshman year but come back sophmore or junior year. I did the opposite: do well freshman year and then crash and burn, then tried the "Phoenix Rising From the Ashes" second semester of junior year till now. I can't believe that happened, but "it's never too late" does have some truth to it right?

That number of AP classes is insane. You certainly challenged yourself. Schools may well ask what happened in 10th/11th grade. The unweighted first semester of 11th grade must be pretty awful.

They’ll appreciate your “Phoenix Rising from the Ashes” lol… I’m serious. They are very forgiving of students who turn themselves around.

Dude, OP, don’t worry about it. There will be many colleges that will take you.
