I've only taken one AP class this junior year (which is the normal amount at my school). The class was AP US History and I received an A in the class. I took the SAT II US History and only got a 720... I found out my AP test score today and I only got a 4...

my intended major is history... will most colleges look at my scores and think grade inflation and think my scores aren't good enough?

You should be able to get into a decent college, assuming your other info is good. One AP score will hardly ever make or break you. Granted, the SAT II score isn't all that bad. 720 is fine.

Heck, my current IB History teacher received a 4 on his AP US History exam and he went to William & Mary (I always joke with him about how I got a 5 on the exam and he didn't).

lol i've had two teachers from William and Mary in high school... they've been the two smartest teachers i've ever had... they knew EVERYTHING about what they taught, i used to come up with weird questions that i thought no one would be able to know off the top of their head... and every single time my biology teacher would get them right, ok once or twice he was like "i'd have to look it up" but 98% of the time he knew it right off the top of his head, it was amazing

If W&M's history dept is like it was when I was there (79-83), there is a reason they are so good. The class sizes, even for freshman history were limited to 25, and all classes were taught by full professors. I didn't major in history, even though I wanted to, because my dad said I couldn't get a job with a history degree. So I became a CPA instead. I wish I had followed my heart (hint to all you kids).

I had 3 A's and a B in history classes, but only a 2.7 in the business school.

Actually make around 75k, but I have been doing it for 22 years. I am my own boss, probably could make a lot more if I were willing to be a slave to my job.

As a history teacher, I would be making probably about 45k, but I would almost be able to retire by now.

To be perfectly honest, I think it's just plain sick that so many people on these boards are depressed with getting fours. It's the equivalent of eighth graders coming on here and worrying about a tremendous amount about the SAT. If anyone is concerned with a 720 and a 4, then I would wonder what in life would actually make that individual happy. When you set your standards too high, you are always bound to be disappointed.

So you missed some MC questions or your essays were not terribly detailed. History just means you can keep learning more, so if History is your intended major, just keep learning about everything, and you'll be fine. Over 50% of the APUSH takers wish they had a 4.

I got a 4 in AP USH and a 670 on the SAT II :/

The latter I'm a little peeved at since the 7 is in the wrong place but I figure the 4 and the A I got in the class will outweigh the lackluster of the 670 haha. I honestly don't know why you're stressing over a 720 -- I would have been really happy with just a 700 after taking that test right after the AP.

The 4 is my proudest grade, to be honest (even though I got a 5 in Eng Lang and a 5 in Psych). I was the least prepared for this one and I found the FRQs pretty challenging. And I was staring at the MC like it was my great uncle rising from the dead. (May he rest in peace.)

Seriously, though, in all honesty, a 4 is good. Yeah, a 5 would be better but unless you felt you could have done better (like me and that stupid 4 from Euro the year previous =/ I terribly sick that day and I was sick for the rest of the month because of all the stress haha. I just wanted to get it over w/ so I took it on the scheduled date.), then a 4 is something to be proud of. I'm still proud of my Euro 4, God knows I could have gotten a 1 in the condition I was in, I was blathering on about pounds and the euro during the DBQ and I was delusional and sick with fever throughout half of it haha.
