How will dropping an AP class 2nd semester of senior year affect me.

Hello.
To get to the point, I want to drop AP Calculus because I ABSOLUTELY do not understand ANYTHING.
I only applied to 2 Cal States (CSU Fullerton and CSU Monterey Bay)
How does dropping this class affect my chances of getting accepted?
I have not sent my official transcripts yet.
I have completed all my math requirements.
I have a (3.4 GPA and I think 1530 on the SAT)
In really aiming more towards CSUMB
If I do switch out, do I need to call the colleges to make changes to the application and inputed classes I wrote on the application?
I can assure you that if I stay in AP Calc, I will mostly get a D or an F, guaranteed. (I’m being honest, I cannot understand math well)
I plan to major in Psychology and minor in foreign languages and Japanese studies.

(Other info)
I tried to drop it beginning senior year and she did not let me.
I gave it a try and passed first semester with a C (Most likely because the teacher took pity on me)
I had a C in precalc but was still forced to take AP Calc by the counselor.
We recently had individual meeting regarding graduation requirements and my math requirements are all complete (3 years of math. The math classes I took and passed include Pre Algebra, Algebra, Algebra 2, Geometry, and Precalc)
AP Calc has really been stressing me out and I guarantee you I cannot pass second semester because I did not grasp the first semester lessons at all.
I have spoken to our VP (who manages most of the HS affairs) and even she said it was understandable to want to switch out and that it was possible since all my requirements are fulfilled.

I would really like some advice. I’m talking to this counselor again today and am really going to I guess “debate”/" argue?" With her since she’s not being understanding. (She literally said she didnt want to switch me out because she didn’t want other students to see me and want to switch out too…)

Thanks.

I would call or email admissions at each school and let them know of your schedule change. Dropping the class is far better than ending up with a D or F. Good Luck.

Better to deal with this issue now than be the author of one of those sad threads at the end of the semester about how to manage an F. How was your meeting with the counselor today?

She said the same things she told me last time. Only new thing she added was that it was difficult to switch me out at this point since first quarter grades are due soon. She’s also going to talk to my Calc teacher (probably about tutoring. Although he himself already said he preferred people who didn’t understand the class to switch out). She told me she would talk to him last week so obviously now I know she didn’t… >∆<

Time to get your parents involved before a terrible first quarter grade is posted. You may want to go talk to your Cal teacher before the counselor gets to him and try to get his explicit support for you to drop the class.
