I know that colleges (like Georgia Tech specifically) often check the extracurriculars, courses taken, awards, etc. into account to see if it aligns with the given students major. I am applying to Georgia Tech and some other schools in the psychology major, but I took AP Psychology online because it got filled up at my school. I also canceled my AP Exam score for it because I tossed my cookies during the exam. How will this reflect on my application? Will the people who see my application take my dedication to the major less seriously? BTW the rest of my extracurriculars/awards follow the behavioral sciences/psychology pathway.
What was your AP Psychology score? It may not matter if everything else is in place. Since you took the class, they will know that you had a score you did not like, since most people do take the AP exam to attempt to place out of beginning psych at GT. You could take the exam AGAIN in senior year, and I suggest you do that. You have little to lose and you can study and get a 5, then you place out saving money and time.
I havent found out yet, but iI’m expecting a 1 or a 2
It may be that the on line class you took was sub par in content. Can you just take the class again in your senior year, or at least compare notes with someone who was in the live class to see if you missed significant content? See what your score is, and if its less than a 3, I would not submit the score to GT.
