How will I better myself to get into SUNY New Paltz?

I'm entering my junior year of high school year, and I'm starting to look at colleges. I'm interested in a graphic design major and I need to stay in-state for schooling since my parents can't afford it, so I was looking at SUNY New Paltz.

Right now, my average is an 85, or 3.2 GPA (weighted 90), and I haven't taken SATs or ACTs yet. I'm a board member for my school's National Art Honors Society as well as Photo Club, hoping to be Presidents of both in my senior year. I'm also on the Fencing team and will be entering Italian Club in the Fall. My only AP is Art History next year.

What should I score for my SAT/ACT, and how can I better myself to make me more applicable? Is grades an issue as well?

Get a 1750-1800 to be safe

More importantly though get your GPA up. (To 3.5 if possible)

Thank you! What are your suggestions on ACT scores?

I’m not familiar with the act because I haven’t taken them and don’t plan on taking them but I guess anywhere above 26 would be a good score for New Paltz. If your GPA stays where it’s at right now though you’ll probably wanna get a 27-28+

Thanks again! I appreciate the help!
