Will they send me an email either way? Or is it one of those things where if you don't hear anything it's a good thing?

It is OK to get in touch with them in a couple of weeks, and ask about the status of your application for the waiver. But do give them some time before you call or email about it. They have a whole bunch to read through and make decisions about!

the schol will also contact you to let you know if your waiver has been accepted. If it is not accepted, they will tell you that they have reveiwed your documents, you do not mmet the requirements for the waiver and what you would have to submit from your non-custodial parent.
