How will my SAT II scores effect me?

I plan to major in anthropology/archaeology or history and am looking at some very competitive schools. I am wondering how my scores will effect me, specifically my 700 on Math 2.

On the new SAT I received a 1430 which is equivalent to a 32/33 on the ACT, however I plan to retake this in the fall and feel that I can score higher. On the US history subject test I scored a 770 which was in the 91st percentile but on the Math II I scored a 700 which is only in the 48th percentile.

Aside from this I have taken a very rigorous curriculum and have a high gpa. I have taken the maximum number of honors and will have completed 9 APs by the end of high school
AP Euro-5
AP US-4
AP Comp Sci-4
AP Lit-4

Will colleges overlook a low score on the Math 2 Subject test as I am not going into a Math related field?

Does the college request/require Subject Tests? Do you have other Subject Test scores other than USH that are higher than your Math 2 score? If you have no higher scores, having a 700 may or may not have an impacy; but it really depends on the college.

Additionally, don’t get caught up on percentiles. An 800 M2 score is “only” 81st percentile. I’m of the opinion that AO’s are not cross-referencing scores with percentile charts.

If the school “recommends” SAT IIs, I would say just send your USH score. If the school requires a certain number of SAT IIs (like Georgetown), I would send both. The 700 is not a bad score, honestly.
Most schools only look at SAT IIs briefly, they don’t play a big role in admissions at all.
