I guess you have more than a shot.

That SAT 1 is pretty high dude… but your UC GPA might kill you… its on the low end. Hope you wrote some good essays.

I feel I did. I hope they consider my GPA bearing in mind the rigor of my HS.

I hope what they say about Berkeley is true in that it is more holistic. I was denied from UCSD with a 4.45W /3.92 UC GPA… full IB diploma program

@ srrrinath: I just want to say that after reading your chance post, I am astounded by your SAT’s and accolades. I have to admit, those numbers are really impressive. I’ll be shocked if you don’t get in, but then again, your’re international. I have no idea (being a transfer student) what your chances are or how they are affected by your international status.

In my opinion, it’s utterly incredible how prepared and impressive most of your guys’ stats are. I’ll be truly honored and humbled to be at UCB (hopefully) with a few of you guys in the fall.

he’ll get in… some other singaporean (my senior) got into MIT… idk stats but yeah singaporeans are pro…

^don’t be so sure on that generalization about singaporeans.

and i agree with you guys: my GPA might have killed my app.

I have no damn idea how it’s going to go down. I was rejected from UCLA, but got into McGill, Claremont McKenna, UCSB and umiami, and today just recieved a personal letter from Pomona. Bare in mind i am out of state and American but have never lived there so…
I think i’ll get rejected but i wouldn’t accept the offer anyways so beats me. Oh my poor 75 dollars! haha

i know a lot about cal admissions. i hope you get in if it’s your dream school. your gpa is tough, admissions weighs gpa higher than SAT at cal. Part of the weighing is their state mandate to take the top gpa students from all the california public high schools. the unfair part is that we all know the IQ and quality of students from different communities and high schools varies dramatically.

gpa is a poor measurement when schools and classes vary so much throughout the California high school system

good luck

if you’re out of state why don’t you go private? less crowded and you can graduate in 4 years
