<p>thats just misinformed. if they don't at least take it into consideration, why the heck would CB revamp the entire SAT I to include a writing section?</p>

<p>Some colleges have specifically stated that they will not give much credence to the writing score for this years applicants, in which case they will probably look at scores just like they have in the past. Most colleges will consider the score, and I would guess it would be given equal consideration as the other parts of the test. As for the schools that won't be considering the scores, I bet they will still use the scores for statistical purposes, just to see what value they have for admissions in future years.</p>
<p>Some colleges, e.g., Georgetown, have said they will not rely on the writing section at all this year. Majority of others have been cautious to say how much they will rely on them with many indicating that they may not rely on them significantly this year because they want more experience with the new section before doing so.</p>

<p>Penn has said they will look at writing if they help you, but not hold it against you if you did poorly. So I think Kaplan screwed that one up.</p>

<p>It matters not to me, cause all my top choices give it equal weight. And i'm sure the fact that you got 680 on writing and 790 on math gives your argument any credibility.</p>
