So, the AP Bio exam this year is going to be a lot different, right? I wanted to know how everyone is going to study for the new format. I heard reading Cliff's review book after taking the class used to be enough for a passing grade, but now that you have to really have a deeper understanding, it may or may not be. What can I do to prepare myself for the 13th?

I started looking at some questions from the 2013 AP Bio Course Description on Collegeboard's website, and I found I'm doing pretty poorly. Like, around 40%. Granted, I don't know all my stuff yet and didn't expect to excellent on this test in the first place, but I'm pretty sure that would be 1 or a 2 on the old test. Do you think the curve will be more lenient this year compared to years past?

This new test seems pretty crazy. I got the old cliff notes, but I’m pretty sure this won’t suffice. I’m gonna try to go through the entire guide in about a week. I’m nervous about the new format as well.

^ I agree with you. My teacher had us take the released practice test (the official one from college board) that had the format of this year exam and it was CRAZY. It concentrated TOO MUCH on scientific methods. Assumed that you have a descent knowledge about biology, that doesn’t guarantee you a good grade though.

My AP Bio teacher gave us that practice test and I got a 47, which I think I can improve on. Right now I’m using Barron’s 2008 book to study but there is a lot of additional information you don’t need to know. The test seems much different on the content you need to know for this year. Do any of you guys know the cutoff this year for a 5?
