How would colleges look at my score?

English:31
Math:32
Reading:31
Science:23

Composite: 29

Just one more point higher on any section(preferably science)and I would have had a 30. Will colleges pay more attention to the fact that I had high marks in 3 sections(the same ones on the SAT), and just got hindered by science, or the 29 composite?

What's funny though is that those 4 #s add up to 117, and 117 is a number that I see so many times in my daily life(it's my favorite # now).

117/4=29.25
118/4=29.5=rounds up to a 30. So close. It was my first time though, I was really pleased with the other 3 sections. A 29 is basically the same as a 1300/1600 on the SAT, but would they prefer me over someone who say got consistent sub scores to get a 29 since I only messed up on science?

If I were you, I'd retake it to get a 30-32 or so, if you think you'll be able to bump it up. As for colleges, I think they only really look at your composite, not the areas in which you did well.

I only need one more point to get a 30, and I have an English score of 31, and I saw on the score report that there is another score for an English WITH writing. Is this E+W the one that factors into your composite? As in if I can get a good score on the essay(they haven't released the writing test scores yet), could it bump by 31 English to a 32 and change my composite?

As in will the English section that factors into my composite be the one that I got a 31 on or the English+Writing.

The essay doesn't factor into your composite.

I'll definitely retake in September and October, but replicating those scores will won't be easy because I've seen people here get lower scores the 2nd time. I guess I just need to really focus on science, and increasing the other scores will also be a top priority.

What do I do about the math concepts though? Like the formula for a circle(the one asking for the center on the Math section), I had no clue about that, but I don't think any book will have every math concept. Still, a 32 is nice, but I need work on all the sections.

Have you already taken Algebra 2? I got a 33 on the math portion, but I know all the ones I missed were stuff from Algebra 2 (the math class I literally just finished). If I were you, I'd brush up on details from every math you've taken, particularly the most recent stuff which you think you'll remember. If you saved notes from old classes, those can come in handy.

I took Algebra 2 in 10th grade, and I'm a rising senior. I think I'll just focus on getting science above 30 by practicing time management. What could a 29 do though? It's a 95 percentile(30 was 97%), and I"m not looking at Harvard or Yale, but is it still a pretty good score?

i think 29 is a good score..I mean, i think it all depends on the colleges.

it's gonna really depend on which colleges you are considering. For top colleges, it would be on the low side. If you're competing for merit aid, it could use a bump higher. If the objective is to just get into a good school, your score is favorable and would be competitive for a lot of good schools, public or private. good luck rahoul.

I'll retake in September and October, and hopefully I can get a 32. If I can get my science up to a 30 and improve slightly on the other sections(did well for a first time), I have a shot.

my scores add up to 117 too
math 28
english 30
reading 36
science 23

im starting to really hate everything
