my school goes on a 1 -100 scale? I live in NY, and we don't use the 1.0 - 4.0 point system, so basically, I've just been recalculating 90's to 4's, 80's to 3's, and so on. The problem is, there is a distinction between an 89 and an 80, right? If not, should I just calculate it as a 3. I know that they calculate it automatically, but it would be good for me to know.

bump.......

90 and up is 4, 80 through 89 is 3, 70 through 79 is 2, and so on. Unfortunately, there is no distinction on this scale between an 80.0% and an 89.9%.

Are you sure? Because after several calls to the UC admission / tech support office, I've been left out in the cold.

zotan is correct. No distinctions for plusses (89=B+) and minuses.

There is a specific formula for UC gpa calculation. You don't calculate it. They do. You get online and put down every course and the grade you had. They take it from their. Search threads for UC GPA calculation and you will find endless posts on this.
What you should do is make sure you have met all the a-g requirements. Search the UC website for a complete list.

Forgot to add that they have a way of weighting some AP classes but there are caps on how many can be weighted.
