How would I fit in at Dartmouth and do I have a chance?

<p>Hi, I am a rising high school senior and I would love to attend Dartmouth. I would really appreciate any feedback on my chances of getting in and whether it seems like Dartmouth would be a good fit for me. </p>

<p>I am a white female from Long Island
GPA: 98 (unweighted) ~101 weighted
Rank: 3/~400
SAT: CR-800 M-660 W-800 (Top scores after taking it twice. I am concerned about my math score and I was planning to retake it in Oct. Will my math score hurt me?)
SAT II: Biology- 710 Math IC- 710 US history- 790
APs: English Language-5 US- 5 Physics-3
Course load for senior year: AP French, AP English, AP biology, AP Economics, AP Calc AB, Spanish 4H</p>

<p>ECs:
I have been on the school newspaper staff since ninth grade and will be editor-in-chief next year
Secretary of Increase the Peace club
French Honors Society officer, French tutor
Spanish honors society
National honors society
Cross country and winter track in ninth and tenth grade (captain in 10th)
About 200 hours of volunteering at an autism school
I did research in a lab during the summers of sophomore and junior year (This year I am working in an organic chemistry lab synthesizing new drugs for tuberculosis)
I have won local and national awards in the National French contest every year since seventh grade. I also won several awards in a French poetry recitation contest. </p>

<p>I am looking for a school with a close-knit community feel, passionate students who enjoy reveling in and sharing ideas, and a friendly environment that is not cut-throat and competitive. I am thinking about pursuing a career in the medical field and I also love languages. I also really enjoy hiking and am very interested in studying abroad.</p>

<p>To be honest, your SAT I Math score and your bio and math SAT II's are kind of low especially if you want to be pre-med. At Dartmouth about 30% of the entering class say they want to go to medical school but only 10% end up applying. It's not even that it's competitive, a lot of students discover something that they love more.</p>

<p>dont worry about one aspect of the sat, i got in with a "low" cr score. </p>

<p>Your SAT IIs are fine as well, anything over 700 is smooth sailing</p>

<p>Lol I can't image a BETTER fit for you!! Dartmouth is the most community driven, laid-back, friendly, intimately academic school in the top 10. Its study abroad program is arguably the best in the country. Its med school placement is second perhaps only to HYPS. Its hiking/ outdoorsy side is amazing (Dartmouth owns its own ski slope!) You might consider Eding, it sounds like the best fit for you by a lot.</p>
