US News Best Colleges has a list of outstanding Study Abroad Colls

The College Board Index of Majors will list which colleges offer a major in french. Then narrow down by state, selectivity, type (University or LAC).

I have no idea how Rugg's arrived at this. Don't take their word for it, but it is someplace to start.

at Kalamazoo in Michigan, a small LAC, 80% of the students go abroad. Middlebury deserves a look, since they are one of the strongest schools i the country for foreign languages and have a famed summer institute.

A website with lots of info entitled "What works in international education" is at http://www.beloit.edu/~i50/whatworks.html

BTW, I think you'd get more replies if you used a more accurate title. "how would I look this up?" could be about anything from baseball stats to college zip codes; "help me find colleges with good french programs" might attract more interest from those who know what you need ...

Middlebury. Georgetown Foreign Languages and Linguistics.
Concordia in Minnesota.
Earlham, I believe, is quite strong in foreign language and study.

Vassar is very strong in French and has its own study abroad program in France (I can't remember if it is Paris, Lyons, or both).

connecticut college has fantastic, nationally commended, study abroad programs. At least half of the junior class studies abroad for at least one semester, from anywhere from the typical england and italy to kenya and vietnam. you can go individually with a general study abroad program, or you can choose to go in a special conn college group led by one of its professors.
