So, on my application for ECs I was an editor on my schools paper for several months and have been a reporter for my entire high school career. So, would I put editor or reporter or what?
I believe editor would look better but I’m not sure. Does it matter or am I overthinking?

I would mention both. Reporter for several years, editor for a few months.
Assuming you’re entering this into a textbox:
“School newspaper - editor (3 mo), reporter (4 yr)”
Or whatever the actual numbers are. That’s how I had to structure my time in marching band: member, section leader, soloist, etc.
Why not put both and the time spent on each?
