I just HAD to drop out of this anatomy class that was ruining my life (literally). This is my first W. How do schools like UCSD and UCLA look at Ws?

P.S. I send my TAG for San Diego already.

They don’t care unless you have several Ws. Learn to use the search function.

OP, why was it literally ruining your life?

UC Admissions reps will call you at 3am sometime in march repeatedly, hanging up on you… and then on the 31st they’ll say you were rejected for having an impeccable record… but that W… just made you impure, and you can’t poison their campus with that W! It means Lazy bum! You evil thing!

lol jk. They don’t care. If you have a 4.0 GPA and 8 or 9 Ws, they will NOT be happy. If you have a 3.5 gpa and that many Ws they won’t care so much lol.

One W is hardly worth worrying over; the UCs will ignore it. You only need to offer an explanation if you have several Ws.

I wouldn’t sweat 1-3 W’s. Especially if they are spread out during your community college stay. However, multiple W’s in a single semester is something you might want to explain on your application.

The search function is just so hard to use.

And for future reference (not like anyone will care) W’s have no effect whatsoever for undergrad for UCs. It’s a statement that, no matter how often repeated, some people still can’t seems to wrap their minds around. Seriously.
