How would UC's look at this GPA...

ok i have have a 3.95 UCweighted GPA. now i have a few questions
-is a 3.95 really looked at any differently than a 4.0 (being that they are soo close together)
-do UC's look more at your Secondary School Report (grades in all classes) or your UC gpa
-do UC's look at all at your Unweighted GPA (mines it bad 3.55)
-how do they calculate your UC gpa (my school gives me an UC transcript that for some reason only uses 5 of the 7-8 classes i have for sophmore/junior year when calculating my UC weighted GPA

Thanks to all in advance

-not to differently, but 3.95 is still less than a 4.00
-they look more at your UC Weighted gpa
-they see it but only consider your weighted capped UC gpa
-the classes that are left out are not UC approved

O thanks

anyone else

yeah basically hurdlesrock is right but I have to stress that if the 3.95 is UC weighted that is a real difference from 4.0. See with their weighting a .02 could mean that you took an extra AP class after all the averaging works out so I would have to stress that you should not feel diminished but realize that there is a true gap there (not huge or anything).

How do you figure out your "UCweighted" gpa?

Only count academic classes (band, computers, dance, etc don't generally count unless they're AP), weigh honors and AP by a full point, only count junior and sophomore grades.

For example:

Sophomore: 7 classes, 5 count, 3 A's, one A-, one B+, 3 are honors/AP.
Junior: 7 classes, 4 count, 2A's, one A-, one B+, 3 are honors/AP.

That would be 4+4+4+4+4+3.67+3.67+3.3+3.3+1+1+1+1+1+1 = 40, divided by number of classes (9) = 4.4 UC GPA.

Thanks but i still have a quick question
on the UC transcript that my councellor gave me it factors in (for example) my US, Eng, Physics, Chem, Span when I actually also have Math (which isn't calculated in) so what exactly does this mean (btw i have taken math in tenth and ninth grade and am a rising senior, but the math hasn't showed up for junior year)

Thanks a lot in advance

what math did u take junior year? and check on the UC website to see if that math is UC approved

I took Calculus Honors (its UC approved) but for some reason my councelors are morons and are only putting five classes for each HS year.
I have a new question: how will the UC's look at my UC weighted GPA? WIll it be taht UC transcript i received or will it be their own way counting all the UC classses

You enter in each class and the grade on the app and it calculates the UC GPA (I'm assuming it works the same way every year).

Do all colleges do something like this? What is considered an amazing UCweighted gpa? Could someone maybe make ranges for us to see?

I just calculated mine... 4.5... is that good?

Yes, it's good - 4.5 is the maximum that a UC GPA is allowed to be.
