How would you compare Nova with Pepperdine?

I believe that when I am all done applying to college, I'll narrow it down between villanova and pepperdine. I'm applying to both schools undeclared, but I have a feeling I'm going to major in Communications or something related to it. Also, these schools just happen to have a religious affiliation, I am not interested in them for religious reasons. Can someone please compare villanova to pepperdine in terms of academic reputation, social life, communications program, post graduation connections, studying abroad, or anything else. Thanks for the help!!!

I have visited both schools and they are very different. Definitely read through this thread on Pepperdine to get a better feel of what you could expect if you attended. Notice the posters talk a lot about “fit” between the students and the university. They also address the subjects of religious requirements, social life, etc.

I go to Pepperdine - not sure about villanova. But I can tell you that pepperdine recently moved up to #53 in US world and news report for 2010. At Pepperdine you will have to attend convocation - (14ish per semester). There are many different options to fulfill this and most students go to Wednesday morning chapel.

Also, there aren’t many classes that meet on Wednesdays which makes it nice. Most of my friends also have no classes on Wednesdays.

haha my sister goes to pepperdine and i go to nova. visited pepperdine and its quite different in some ways but is the same in many areas. either school would be great. and ya my sis has no wed classes

Thanks for the help. 1390Hopeful, in what ways are they similar?

it’s rainier…
