How would you order these colleges?

<p>I have a list of colleges and was wondering how they would stack up against one another. I plan on majoring in Mechanical Engineering.</p>

<p>MIT
CalTech
CalPoly
Stanford
Villinova
Lafayette
UC Davis (Probably last)</p>

<p>Money/location is not an issue. Just want to know reputation wise. If you have any other suggestions about colleges I would be happy to hear from you!</p>

<p>PhD Universities</p>

<h1>1 MIT</h1>

<h1>5 Stanford</h1>

<h1>9 Caltech</h1>

<p>BS/MS Universities</p>

<h1>1 Cal Poly SLO</h1>

<h1>10 Lafayette</h1>

<h1>10 Villanova</h1>

<p>UCD is unranked, but the NRC rankings ranks its graduate Mech E program as #26 among PhD universities.</p>

<p>The difference between Caltech, MIT, and Stanford is undoubtedly fairly small.</p>
