I know Drew isn't one of the top schools, but it offers a program I'm very interested in, and that not too many other schools offer. They also give a lot in scholarships, and it's a pretty and safe campus. There are a lot pros. The only real con is the name recognition factor for me.

It's not so much that I care what people think, it's just, if someone told you they went to Drew, you probably wouldn't even know anything about it.

Should the name recognition factor deter me from going to Drew, even though it would be good for me? Should I trade it for a more well-known and respected top liberal arts school, even though I might like Drew more, and would get me where I want to be faster?

~70 rank among Liberal Arts college means little to no name recognition outside of New Jersey.

OP, because you are really worried about prestige or rank to a certain degree, which can be somewhat inferred by you posting this thread, Drew might not be the best choice. However, it is always important that you choose a school/program makes you happy.

I’m not sure what you’re asking. You say Drew will get you where you want to go faster, so what would be the benefit of a better known school if this one will get you where you want to go? People usually choose better know schools to help get them to where they want to be.

Yes yes, quite right, I do like Drew, and it really shouldn’t matter it’s ranking. It’s a good school, no Harvard, but is best for me, which after all is what matters. Not if it’s best for anyone else. Thank you.

It depends on what the OP wants to do with his/her degree… this user has made threads about becoming a high school teacher. A degree from Drew to teach high school would be completely fine. It would probably be recommended to go somewhere inexpensive also considering high school teachers don’t make all that much.
