How would you react?

Really? Do you care that much?

I don’t think it matters. You’ll probably chicken out.

FWIW, graduation is not the place to do it. I was the first in my family to graduate high school and if someone f*ed that up, I’d f them up.

don’t do it…not worth it. Find another way to send your message…don’t ruin the day for other people.

Yeah, you would be a huge jerk if you did this. Do NOT do it. Terrible idea.

But it makes me think of this (if anyone watches Weeds): [YouTube - Weeds: Graduation](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQWFfw7QrTg)

@Choco ■■■■■ at the Snakes on a Plane quote by the kid.

guess who isn’t getting a diploma
hahahahhaha
GREAT IDEA. it’ll be even better if it stays as an idea
but if you did do it… you would be my hero =]

You would be my hero, simple as that. If you don’t care about the possible consequences, there’s nothing stopping you.

I find it sad that graduation is important for people. I support you in ****ting on their “big” day. Lol.

Can we have a transcript of the speech?

Seriously, though it’s ballsy and probably an incredible wet dream of every angry, too-smart-for-high-school student, don’t. You’re not going to be lefted across the crowd of your peers as they realize they’re faults, the cool teacher isn’t going to slowly nod his head in that “I accept you” fashion, people aren’t gonna say “you’re my hero” anywhere else but this site. What’s going to happen is that you’ll just probably be cut off short and everyone will just think “what an idiot”, best case scenario in reality. You’re high school isn’t Cuba, you’re not Che Guevara, get over it all and just let people have this one day in peace. Make the speech short and funny and leave it at that.

Sorry friend, but the world isn’t like preteen girl TV shows. I think doing something like that would be extremely unwise.

a: you wouldn’t change anything.

b: you would get a LOT of people mad at you.

c: Frankly, you’re a high school student. Odds are things aren’t as bad as you see them.

If there is really that bad of a problem with your school, you should talk to your parents, or another trustworthy adult, and get things moving that will make a real difference.

Here’s a reality check – as soon as you deviate from what was approved, an administrator will thank you and you’ll be escorted off the stage mid-sentence, looking like a fool for being pwned by the administration in front of the whole school.

So since you’re only going to get a few sentences in before it’s over, you better lead with your best shot. In that case you’ll be escorted off the stage after flinging a few naked insults, and will again look like a fool.

This is a cute idea in a movie, but in real life it’s a Fail.

To answer your title question, I would sit there in awe and wonder how you got passed the administrators with that kind of speech. I might secretly commend you if I agree, but on the whole, I would feel that you’ve wasted my time on such a special day.

I would think you were crazy and definitely think twice before believing anything unkind you said about anybody. You don’t want to hear this, but here is the reaction you’d get from the majority: you’d come off as a stereotypical spiteful nerd who was picked on in school and now is trying to get even.

Whether or not this is hypothetical, this isn’t how you make your statement. The way you let the school know you didn’t love the past four years you spent there is to politely decline to make a speech in the first place. If they ask you why, then you can tell them your true feelings with as little maliciousness in your voice as you can. That is the ONLY way you will not come across as worse than the people you are maligning. You can’t agree to make a high-spirited speech at a showy event and then bad-mouth the people there. ESPECIALLY if you haven’t addressed each and every complaint with the person you are complaining about.

bring both speeches and see how the crowd might react if you said ONE of the things, and if they get angry, switch to the other speech. :>

if i knew the truth and you were telling it, i’d clap hard.

If you really really want to do it, i think it would be best if you didn’t rant for a long time-make it concise, give really good reasons and examples, and if you ARE speaking the truth, and aren’t overly subjective, you’ll probably get applause from your classmates. From teachers, probably not. But spdf has a good point- they might drag you offstage midspeech, so try to speak fast and don’t fling “naked insults”. Good luck, and i admire your audacity. God knows I could never do that.

Graduation isn’t the best venue for you to vent about how terrible your high school is, however true that may be.

You can poke fun at the school, but don’t make that the central focus of your speech.

Pretty much.

That wouldn’t by any chance have anything to do with the fact that it is spiteful, would it?

:D

^ What a grouch
But seriously i enjoyed all the comments. I thought most were hilarious to tell you the truth. The one misconception that everyone seems to have is that I’ve been tormented through my high school career, but the thing is, i haven’t. The reason I’m giving the speech is for those kids. Trust me, there are alot of kids at my school who have had terrible experiences, and i know none of them can stand up for themselves, so I’m going to do it for them. Speech is in a little over a week. God i hope i walk out with a diploma.

dooo it!

also, just to satisfy my own curiosity, where are you going to college?

is this like bullying and lifetime movie administrators? mmm, I guess but there are other ways
