How You Would Open the EMAIL...

Ok, seriously, I just thought about how I would click to open the email with my eyes closed... pray... convince myself that I would be happy at a backup, then cover my closed eyes with my left hand, and then pry the fingers open just enough to read the first line..........

just open it and read. There are thousands of insanely qualified applicants who wont get in. who cares if you’re one of them? There is not shame nor disappointment in getting rejected by the “top” school in the world. anyone who didnt get a likely who isnt expecting to get rejected is a fool. so just open it goddammit and what is is.

yeah id prob do the same, I know I will hesitate for a while though, it will be life changing to get in. But I do have some nice backups that will quell the pain of not getting in

amen supereagle10

amen…good luck

I’ll click on it and cover the screen with my arm just to give me a few seconds to relax (I get really tense with college decisions). After about 5-10 seconds, I’ll move my arm and read it. Really, it will end up not being a big deal. Chances are I’ll be one of the ~27,000 people rejected, so if I get a rejection letter, it won’t be bad - so many qualified people don’t get in every year, so it won’t be a judgment of me as a student. If I get in, well I’ll stare at the screen for an eternity in disbelief, and then (as I posted in another thread) I’ll sound my barbaric yawp over the roofs of the world. (thank you Walt Whitman)

I’m just going to open it and read it right away. Any sort of hoping or praying won’t change anything at that point anyways :)

I’m gonna let it sit in my inbox, check the rest of ivy league decisions, then double-click it quickly, look away as it loads, and then take it all in at once.

open it and pray I get rejected. There may still be hope, Yale.

I’m checking Harvard first, since I want to go from most likely rejection to most likely acceptance, but I’m going to do the whole cover-the-screen-with-my-arm business…

are they going to send you a regular letter if you are accepted/rejected

I’m expecting a rejection so i’ll open it up and look at it. My heart’s going to feel a little heavy for a few minutes but then I’ll get over it considering that fact that I’m not the strongest applicant in the world (damn spanish)

“are they going to send you a regular letter if you are accepted/rejected?”

Yes, they will mail decisions.

I’ll just keep refreshing my email until I see it, then I’ll open it up and read it. I’ll fall out of my chair screaming, or I’ll still be stunned even if I get waitlisted (that’s still pretty dang good), and if I get rejected, I’ll just be like “Ok, I’m going to Cornell and I’m perfectly fine with that.”

^Congrats on Cornell.

Thanks, I’m really stoked that I got in. Granted, I’d go to Harvard in a heartbeat if I got in, but that chances of that are so low that I’m fully expecting to enroll at Cornell.

@StevenWheatland2, your post made me laugh :D

“I would click it really fast run away from the screen and have someone else read it, write it down on a piece of paper and have them hide it. Then I would spend the entire time looking for it and then maybe after a lot of searching, I wouldn’t care anymore and I wouldn’t be sad when I got rejected.”

I’m checking Harvard last…waaay last!

I would just click it and get it over with. No eye covering or screen covering for me. Just maybe rapid heart beats.

click - pop - YESSSS… it’s finally over… ^^

Click…open…read…reject?

baaah…go back to sleep

:D
