I was accepted by the LSA 2 weeks ago, but I just receive an email of U Mich that they have my FAFSA and CSS Profile pulled. My EFC is 0 and I read about that Mich has cut the budget for non-resident students. Since there's one day to decide, could anyone tell me the possible financial aid I can get... ...all my schools except Rutgers and Penn State have not give an answer of the aid yet, so I am really worried... though I know this is almost impossible to calculate.

Thanks....

How could the state of Michigan cut the budget any further for OOS students? Isn’t UM already one of, if not the most expensive public university in the country for OOS students?

Lee, I don’t know what you mean by “pulled” – do those docs need to be verified? With an EFC of zero, you simply CANNOT commit to a school without reviewing a financial aid package. You need to get that info in hand and ask all the schools that haven’t given you a financial aid estimate to extend your acceptance deadline and/or get you an estimate immediately and in writing. Get on the phone first thing in the morning, and get confirmation in writing.
Nobody can possibly guess and it would be fiscally irresponsible to decide without the info. Can you get a parent or guidance counselor to help you???

Thanks… I completed the files, called, and they gave me an pretty generous estimate (and the word “ESTIMATE” has the highest appearance rate in the e-mail)… I’m now waiting for the official award notice… waiting and praying…

Lee,
My son also got into Penn State Main Campus and Michigan. Are you from Pa? His Financial Aid package from Michigan was better than Penn State!!! Hope the same happens for you!

@ty4collegehelp Not far… I’m from NJ…Thanks~

Forgot to add…I emailed them and asked if they could speed the process up because my son was also admitted on 4/15. They were very quick to comply. Do they have all the information they need? If so, I would strongly suggest you email them. I was actually surprised at how quick the responded! Keep us posted…I think you will be pleasantly surprised. I know we were!
