Howard acceptance and ECAs .

Hey everyone , I am from Asia and have recently completed my high school and I have a dream to attend Howard . I
think of applying Howard and I am taking the SAT this October . I would like to know if I would have a better chance in
getting accepted to Howard.I am thinking of Volunteering in a local school for around 3-4 months where I would be teaching them Mathematics. I wanted to know if It would foster my chances if I would include this in my essay. I would be really grateful if anybody would help me understand how Howard would see this and any other suggestions are welcome too .
I have a 3.8 GPA and a few activities .
P.S : Would not being involved in many activities hurt my chances of getting into Howard ?
Let me know!
Regards.

and sorry for the gaps in between the lines . I was using my phone to post , so the post seems to appear ugly .

I suppose the ECAs will help in showing you are occupied and not lazing around after grad. But that’s all it might help with I think. Maybe a subtle boost, maybe not, tho not doing anything may indicate you as a person who enjoys slacking or is unmotivated and therefore, a bad impression. But then again it’s just my opinion. Well, tutoring helps u keep in touch with ur lessons too so why not? lol

@JustinPon Thanks mate ! :slight_smile:

@intlstdnt If you plan on being a Math, Engineering/Comp Sci or Education major then volunteering as a tutor is a good start. What part of Asia are you in? What scale is used for your GPA?

@MezzoForte I am from India . I did Cambridge A levels and I hope in majoring In Electrical Engineering , wby ?

Oh ok I see. I already graduated lol
