Nice article about Howard and what it offers for international students.. Go Bisons!!!

Interesting article, thanks.

What HBCUs are doing to attract students from non-traditional sources is interesting. For example, at some HBCUs the varsity baseball teams are made up almost entirely of students from Spanish speaking nations and white U.S. kids. It’s one world, baby!

I read that article too! I thought that was very interesting! HU is my D’s number one choice!

Thanks for the link!

Perhaps that means that the scholarships listed at http://www.howard.edu/financialaid/grants_scholarships.htm#Freshman are awarded to international students?

(Louisiana Tech was also mentioned.)

I’m pretty sure anyone can compete for the freshman scholarships at Howard.

@juillet I applied rather late, only on Feb1, to Howard. Can you guess when they’ll send me an acceptance or rejection letter? I’ve been waiting for months now, and this is killing me!
When we toured HBCUs this past summer, it was not unusual to see Hispanic and white potential students or current students there. A former schoolmate of D’s is a freshman at Howard and loves it-he is pre-med and got a full ride. The top student in this year’s senior class also just chose it over some pretty highly ranked PWI’s to which she was admitted. I believe Juilett is right about the scholarships.
In Nepalese, the letters ‘ow’ sound identical to ‘arv’
@amrikagaincha - I don’t know. If you submitted February 1 I would guess at least 6-8 weeks, so late March to mid-April, probably.
