Howard University Chances?

So I’m currently a Senior and I am applying to Howard RD
My freshman, sophomore, and junior UW GPA is a 3.6
GPA UW for senior year: 3.8
My School Doesn’t Weight
ACT:22 (I know its rather low)
AP’s: AP Computer Science A, AP Gov, AP Biology (taking these this year)
Junior Year: APUSH and AP Chem (I got 4s on both)
EC’s
Student Council President for 4 years
Vice President of the National Honor Society 2 years
Chairman of a Non-profit Organization that I started at my school its called A.R.C (Animal Rescue Committee) 3 years
I am apart of my schools Student Mentorship Program, where we (select seniors) help freshman with their work and adjusting to high school life and stuff.

Family:
I come from an upper middle class-ish family so I do not expect MAJOR amounts of aid.
I’m Black.
My Dad went to Howard so I’m a legacy, I don’t know if that will mean anything when it comes to admissions.

Essay’s: 9/10 (Not even trying to toot my own horn but I was very proud of my essays)

Recs: I have 3
Teacher A: 10/10 (had a very close relationship with this teacher she could be my mom)
Teacher B: 8/10 (very close but she is very generic I have seen letter she has written for me in the past and they were…ok)
Teacher C: ?/10 (I honestly don’t know )

ALSO:
It would be great if any HU students or parents of HU students or Alums could tell me anything that I should know that I wouldn’t see on the website. Like some things, I should be warned about from Howard.

Thanksssssss

Hey, I applied EA. Make sure to get your application in it’s entirety in as soon as possible for RD. Your stats are great. Your ACT won’t make up too much in the decision, but it would help if you took it again last week. You seem like a well rounded student so best of luck. Why didn’t you apply EA though?

@idontknow23 To be completely honest with you I just didn’t want to have to rush to do my supplement because I have so many other things that were getting in the way. 65% of me is applying because of my dad and because he went there and enjoyed it.

That makes sense. I didn’t want to chance RD because their acceptance rate has dropped over the years and I’m sitting on the middle 50th percentile, which is decent, but still, I wanted to stand out a little more. It took over a month to write my supplemental essay. But Howard is one of those schools where I feel like you have to be all in. My sister went there and she loved it, but her time there, along with a lot of people made me realize this isn’t a university for everybody. What major are you going for?

@idontknow23 I am probably going to major in either Journalism or Biology I haven’t decided yet what about you?

I’m still trying to decide if I want to double major in Political Science and Journalism. I don’t want to limit myself to either because of the political climate right now, but I also don’t want that stress
