Howard University Class of 2020!

For those of you who haven’t heard, have you called admissions to make sure your file is complete and under review?

@partyof5 Yeah, we did a few weeks after she applied. They confirmed that they had received everything and her application was currently processing.

Oh well it seems like we’ll be notified more or less around the same time as regular applicants. >.> So much for early action…

The next round of acceptances comes out January 22nd at the earliest.

Just got my official letter(accepted before Xmas break). It’s dated Jan 4th so I’m hoping that the rest of yall will hear either today or next week.

@Chopinspiano did it included scholarship info? Was it via email or mail and when did you apply (early or regular)

@Brajia I applied EA got an email about my acceptance in December. My official letter came today by mail (I’m domestic not international, but OOS). Scholarship info comes separate from what I’ve heard.

My child applied early action and they received her information in time. For some reason, Howard is having difficulty getting acceptance letters out. I was told Dec. 18th and then Jan. 22nd. I said to my daughter “why did you even bother applying early action.”

@Chspencer2 I do agree that they’re unorganized but some schools do release EA results in January like UNC Chapel Hill and Georgia Tech. It’s not uncommon. I jusr wish Howard was more consistent.

Those schools are very upfront about when the results will be released though. Howard isn’t.

i’m kind of late but do they give out scholarships based on when you applied?
and ik really late but i just found out like a few days ago XD:

stats:
GPA (UW): 4.0 , GPA (W): im assuming 7.0 since it was 6.96 before the semester was up
SAT: 2190 ( just wanted 10 more points! )
ACT 32
Diverse awards + community Service
:smiley:

Plus does Howard have its own essay? because ik most of the colleges on common app do but i didn’t see a place for the separate essay?

Guys did Howard respond with their admission decision, because for the BS MD program I applied to I need to get my admission before I can continue with everything

I got accepted yesterday. I only got my letter in the mail though, I never got an email.

@pranavrsm Contact Howard and ask!

Also I was invited to apply to the bs/md program and I’m not sure if it’s worth it or not with:

  1. The debt from undergrad + grad school (I'm assuming my scholarships would be tier 3.)
  2. How good is howard with residency placement
  3. Do i actually want to sacrifice my social life this early?
  4. They don't have a public health program in case I want to switch my major.

I still have not received a decision from them. Anybody else still not receive anything? Should I email them? I already sent them an email in the past asking about my application (which they never replied to), so would I be bothering them?

@ThatPeprika Call them do not just email them.

Also when are decisions expected for Regular Decision applicants? I’m an Early Action applicant, but I just want to know to see how close decisions EA decisions are given out to RD decisions

@ThatPeprika you need to call

Yes, based on stats you qualify for free tuition and I believe qualify for for free room and board; however, they state that the funds can run out so yes, you may be getting a late start, but definitely worth trying. Congratulations on you academic achievements.

You can call them and my daughter is still waiting after applying 10/31. They said the next round would come out 1/22/16
