I recently visited Howard University & completely fell in love with D.C, the campus and the people! It’s currently my first choice. I’m going to college to major in pre-med to eventually become a pediatric surgeon. I currently have a 3.2 & a 25 on the act. I plan on re taking the ACT & haven’t taken the SAT yet. I’ve participated In several community service events, taken many leadership roles & am a varsity athlete taking honors and a.p classes. I’m a junior and really want to know my chances! Please help
You should retake the ACT to better your chances
That is wonderful that you loved Howard! Now, you need to buckle down and raise that SAT or ACT.
Check this out from Howard’s Website. Did one section of the ACT drag down your score? Do you have a teacher or tutor who can help you with hard questions? Pull up the scholarship information on the Howard website and show your parents the fabulous scholarships you could be eligible for if you pull up your scores. According to the website, funds run out so apply in a timely manner. Track the dates. Also, talk to your parents about how much money is available for you for college.

Study using Up your score ACT, or Get your ACT together: both of these are fun but practical. Also use the “red book” but keep in mind the tests there are MUCH easier than the current tests.
