Howard vs UTDallas

I’m having a hard time deciding between howard(with full tuition waiver) and UTDallas( 18k CoA thanks to AES). As an international, money is a huge issue so do you think spending the extra on UTDallas will be worth it?
I would like to know all the pros and cons of both.
My major will be either ECE or CS.

Thanks in advance.

@Tahamid16 I would go to Howard. Howard University has a partnership with Google (best company in the world) that practically guarantees CS majors (in good standing) an opportunity to train for 12-weeks at a Google campus in California. That experience is invaluable

UTD has no Google partnership … UTD students interested in interning with Google have a harder road to travel.

Final, if you can afford Howard go to Howard. Also Howard is way more fun and interesting than UTD

I second @NuScholar . Both schools have very, very different cultures. I live by UTD and it is still mainly a commuter school. However, the administration is slowly changing this with the addition of new housing and student resources. The campus feels dead even in the middle of the week. Howard is known for its social scene and you would have no trouble making friends. The two issues I have heard is that you will often find yourself waiting in the long lines of various offices and that housing is a pain past freshman year. Although UTD has no Google partnership it has a very strong CS program. I don’t think it is worth an extra 18k though.

@Hamlon From my research, Texas Instrument is in partnership and is to thank for UT Dallas strong CS and engineering program. Many UTD grads end up at Texas Instrument. But Texas Instrument isn’t respected like Google

I would definitely go to Howard. You’ve got a full tuition waiver, so it’ll be less expensive. Howard’s social scene is legendary but it’s also a great school with excellent recruiting - and yes, that new partnership with Google that comes with fancy new resources.

Go to Howard since its professional outcomes will be similar or better… and it’s cheaper. I see no reason to pay more for UT Dallas.
