Howard

Does Howard only accept african american students or students from other minorities as well

They'll accept anyone and there are some non african american students.

Yep, Howard accepts people from every race...

so what % of the student body is african american, other

i just looke din one of my college books, and it says its 99% african american

Howard accepts all ethnicities. In fact, I think you might benefit from AA at Howard since you will be a minority over there. Someone correct me I'm wrong?

Also, Howard is an HBCU, so of course it's going to be majority African American. Most HBCUs are majority African American with the exception of a few. Also, don't underestimate Howard, Howard will not take just anyone. It is one of the most selective HBCUs in the U.S.

Typically at historically black colleges, students who are not black benefit when it comes to admissions. As is the case with majority white institutions, majority black institutions also value having racially diverse student bodies. More than likely, Howard even has a minority students office, which would offer support services to students who are in the minority in campus, which means students who are not black.

Until about 15 years ago, Howard used to have the highest proportion of international students of any US college. I think that it lost its standing when more mainstream colleges began reaching out to international students. It has a long history of supporting diversity.

As for what is life like for nonblack students on HBCUs? What i have heard from white students taking classes on HBCUs is that they have loved how friendly the campuses are. For instance, people tend to speak to other students even if they don't know them. Professors also tend to be very interested in teaching students, and tend to go far out of their way to be supportive, including even inviting students to their homes.
