It was my first time taking the ACT, I thought it was pretty easy compared to the SAT. I ran out of time for the Science section and the reading section. Overall, I think the science part was the hardest part.. What did you guys think? What'd you think of the Writing Essay? Hardest sections?

English - easy 30+
Math - harder than last time (got a 32 last time…maybe a 30 this time)
Reading - I always fail it. Wasn’t too bad though…maybe a 25
Science - Pretty easy 30+
Essay - I owned it :D

Really? I think I just suck at science overall. Are you strong in science? Any tips? =)

Math and Science are my strong points. Very strong at them.

For science I dont read anything (unless it is the students with different approaches to topics with different conclusions…it was the one with the cells that make you old on today’s test). Just read the question and it usually tells you what graph to look at…so just draw a conclusion from it…go quick and if you are stuck, come back to it. I finished just in time today :D

Haha, I think I didn’t get to the whole last row of the answer sheet. So I circled in “B” for all of them. =P

The ACT is not like the SAT right? You should bubble in all the answers and not leave them blank? Unlike the SAT where wrong answers are counted against you?

yup…I have to make my message longer…lol

I was really surprised at how easy it was… After SATs my brain was barely working but after ACTs today I felt great. I finished every section and there was only one question in the science I wasn’t absolutely positive on. I was rushed in the end of my essay but that was the only problem.

I am a junior in high school and it was my first time taking the ACT. I’ve taken multiple practice tests before and thought that all of the sections but the math were about the same. Math is usually my strong side(I usually get around a 34 on practice tests), but on the April 2011 ACT I thought that the math was unusually difficult. Does anyone agree or was it just my imagination? Anyone remember some or the questions/answers to the math?

There was some question asking about expanding a 150 by 60 park and seeing the picnic areas that could fit in it, I had no idea about it so I guessed, guessed on the last 15 questions of the science and math, everything else was easy, put no opinion for teachers on the essay, it was fairly easy

I was so rushed on the reading… I think I did near flawless on the other 3 parts though. The hardest math question was the very last one about (a+b) > a^2 + b^2 or something like that but I think I got it.

^How is that even hard? o__o That may be slightly mean of me to say but a^2+b^2=(a+b)(a-b). And so a+b cancel on both sides, which leaves 1>(a-b).

First ACT. I was a bit iffy on science this time around but good with everything else.

I got the right answer it was just harder than the other questions, which were a joke.

I feel like we’re all from the Class of 2012…

^ I wonder why.
