How'd you feel about the Interview??

Just like the title says, how'd you guys feel walking out of it? I felt it to be a bit anticlimactic, nothing as great as I thought it'd be.

I don't really feel I really covered all the things I do extracurricular-wise, but I guess Yale already knows about all that via the actual application. And it ended somewhat randomly; there was a long silence and he was like "well i guess if there are no more questions, I guess we're done!"

Seemed like we just jumped everywhere in topics. Never really talking about just one thing. I really don't know waht to think about the whole thing. What'd you guys think of your interviews?

Yeah, those feelings were generally the same thing I felt. When I left, I said to myself, "Wow, that was it."

QRick, you're from SF. Yay Area pride. Where exactly?

I felt excited for a while, but then I realized that my interview didn't cover a lot of what I had hoped it would. It was good, but not my finest.

My went horribly. I was so nervous!

Yep, I'm screwed. My interview was only ten minutes long :(

10 minutes? what'd you talk about...

wow, that's really short. my shortest interview was 45 minutes at least, and that even felt rushed.

Mine was limited to 30 min, which is probably better so we didn't a) talk all night b) have him kick me out se he could eat dinner or c) simmer down awkwardly with an "...is it over?"

It was pretty good, he smiled a lot? We had quite a bit in common. I was kind of nervous so I think I came off high-strung. We talked about interesting stuff though. Hope I didn't sound too much like an infomercial on my ECs.

I think he was in a hurry. He just asked me why I wanted to go to Yale and that was it. Then he was like "I got to go, peace out." Funny, cause it actually took me around 45 minutes to find the place.

kyzan, thats kinda too bad. i talked for like an hour and a half? with my person... it was funny because she had to be at a job interview later..

Dietcoke, that is kind of ironic. Oh well, I was feeling pretty good about my chances at Yale earlier. But in general I think interviews are fun, definitely more pleasurable than filling out forms and writing essays.

Two and a half hours...

2.5hrs?? wow. Musta been nice ^^

Mine was roughly 1.5 hrs. Kinda fizzled out at the end xD Didn't talk much about extra-curriculars and school--just shot the breeze about random interests. All in all, not my best interview (and it was the one that mattered most to me!) I came off a little nonchalant about Yale, when I really should have begged them to take me! I was in that stage where I was setting my heart on my safeties, in the good likelihood that Yale rejects me. Bad timing, I know.

mine was actually only 20 min but it went well. my interviewer was wicked nice, and he even admitted that he probably wouldnt be accepted if he applied today!

Mine was 2 hrs. It really wasn't an interview to tell the truth...We were both metalheads and we were too busy talking about Metallica and whatnot. My interviewer never got to the questions...

Mine was about an hour and twenty minutes... I didn't cover some things that I wanted to...

Did any other interviewers give an overview of the Yale admissions process (and how it got revamped in the 1970s)? Mine said that it was now standard to the interview, so I'm just checking for consistency.

It's not standard to the interview. No instructions to interviewers I've ever seen has talked about giving an overview of the process.

My interviewer explained his role in the admissions process and what the interview was all about.

Mine did not. It was weirddd
