<p>Mostly academics and leadership for me. Class rank is 1/437, 4.00 UW GPA, 2150 SAT, Class President, National Honor Society President... But everyone looks good on paper. I know what really helped for me was having awesome ALO and nomination interviews. My congressman called USAFA himself to make sure I would be getting my appointment. :)</p>

<p>Congratulations redhead89. Sounds like you've worked hard for a well deserved appointment. A word of caution to other applicants. Not everyone does look good on paper. Resume building is not necessarily hypocritical. It can and should involve achieving intermediate goals that lead to your long range ambitions. Seeking leadership, building athletic skills, working for high grades and test scores all not only build your resume, but they also strengthen you as a person. They make you the sort of person the academies want and need.</p>
