How're you getting in shape this summer?

yeah you really don't necessarily need weights to get a good work out. Plyos, pull ups, dips, etc. when you aren't jacked already will more than make up for the lack of weight. Your body weight can be really hard to lift.

I work out at the gym a few times a week. I don't really do it to lose weight (I am 110lbs, 5'3) but rather to stay in shape. I do about 50 minutes of cardio and 10 minutes of abdominal crunches. Then on Wednesdays I do a full body workout class. :D

surfing and weights
simple and proven to work
:D

I walk for 2 hours everyday with my dog in the morning, 30 minutes with him at night, and I go biking around my neighborhood a few times a week for 2 and a half hours with my friends.

Cardio is no good because you lose muscle along with fat (unless you do HIIT cardio and eats lotsa protein :D ).

I need to get dumbbells so I can start doing a lot of strength exercises.

I'm not. :P

Though my arms are getting quite the workout from playing Rock Band....

I rode bikes with my boyfriend to the library and back but decided I didn't like that. I'm really bony and it hurt too much to sit on the bike for that long.

Doesn't matter though since I'm not an athlete and have zero inclination to be, and I'm underweight anyway.

^^ Not if you lift weights on alternate days. No work out is really effective without some type of cardio.

No, I mean just doing cardio. Too late to edit now.

It seems like that is what a lot of people do, especially girls. Cardio is important, but so is strength training. It's not really healthy to do either without the other.

i really need to get in shape but it's tough cause of a foot condition i have that makes it hard to walk let alone run. i have the muscle mass of and 8 year old -_-

Yoga
Pilates
Running
Swimming and now Biking

exhausting sex.

^ Nice...:)

Deadlifting.

^^^ hahahahaha. finally. thank you.

walking up sf hills.

a few sets of 30-40 pushups every day
another few sets of different sit-ups and crunches and other ab workouts

i'm not really trying to get into shape, since we condition at school for the whole first semester

i'm trying to get totally ripped for my girlfriend. i already got the 6 pack going and everything

What was that argument way back then that musical theater was just as physically demanding as sports? LOL.

Lmao, that got my blood boiling. I wanted to slap the crap out of a theater nerd when I walked back onto campus after basketball conditioning, lol!

^ As somebody who has gone through sports AND theater, doing tech on plays is as physically demanding as sports and much more mentally demanding.

^ one word: no.

I can't speak for HS girl's sports, because from what I've seen they're much less intense (because most of the time, girls don't care for sports as much as guys do and therefore aren't as dedicated), but there's no way any job in tech is anywhere near as physically demanding as guy's sports.

^ They are not much less intense. I have gone through conditioning for both girls and guys basketball (don't ask) and they were very similar in demanding-ness lol.

And for those of who are against me, have you ever done tech in theater? Like real tech? We put in much more hours and work just as much.
