For now, I want to major in nuclear/astro physics in university. How are Harvard's engineering programs compared to those of MIT or Caltech?

Harvard engineering has been discussed many times recently, so do a search.

Regarding astrophysics, I am an astrophysicist with degrees from Harvard & Berkeley... Harvard is tied with Caltech and Berkeley for the top spot... other great schools for astrophysics include Princeton, Chicago, Cornell, MIT, UCLA, UC Santa Cruz, U Arizona, U Hawaii, U Texas, U Colorado, U Wisconsin, Yale, U. Illinois, U. Virginia, Columbia, U Maryland, Penn State.

If you cross-reference that list with schools that are great in engineering as well, then I would say: Caltech, Berkeley, Princeton, Cornell, MIT, Texas, Illinois, UCLA, U Wisconsin, U Maryland, Penn State.
