How's Life at Cal Poly Pomona?

What is there to do? I recently visited the school, unfortunately on a weekend so it was pretty “dead”. I would like know what is happening on campus on a weekday, what can you do on campus (besides just studying), any fun activities between students, what’s around (malls, hiking/biking trails?) etc… I just want to know how it is…

Thanks for your help!

I am currently a student at Cal Poly Pomona and this is my second year. When I was a Freshman I tried my best to stay on campus during the weekends. Unfortunately, there is NOTHING to do unless you drive a half an hour away. Pomona is filled with liquor stores and terrible restaurants. Because of budget cuts many classes are not being offered and every other Friday classes are furloughed (meaning classes are not in session). So far, I have taken 2 classes where the teachers actually inspired and had an impact on my learning. If you are going to college just to fulfill your major, then this is the place for you. Cal Poly Pomona is great for engineering and hotel restaurant management. Making friends is a bit difficult considering only 9% of undergraduates live on campus, widely known as a commuters school. But I think next year the percentage will be higher because CPP is making it a requirement that freshmen students live on campus. I hope this helps.

Cal poly pomona is ok, I mean its not a totally happening campus but you can find things to do. They have plenty of campus clubs to get involved in so in the past few years, I been noticing more student activities in campus.

Are you kidding me??? I went on a tour my freshmen year of high school and was invited to a frat party like that… A frat party on a Wednesday … I’m going in the fall
