how's life on the east coast? esp new york??

I am considering going there for college
and since where you go to college is usually where you end up living afterward, location is very important for me!

so how is ny??

especially in terms of weather/environment/traffic/lifestyles/crime/population..etc..

Well with Manhattan it's fast, fun, and really pricey. People there aren't really that rude. Also, sex shops aren't to hard to find if you're into that kind of thing. There are lots of theaters on broadway and wall street is actually tiny. Oh, and use the subway there because it's really cheap compared to a cab. And another thing, you can always find steam coming out of some manhole.

upstate NY sucks. NYC area is good, but not many people live there, the live in North Jersey which is a nice area.

is it true that usually people don't have their own cars in nyc and use public transportation??

Well if everything is in walking distance, why would you need a car? But people do own cars there.

yes, many people take buses or use the subway

New Jersey: Where the populations' high and the crime's higher.

"New Jersey is like a beer barrel, tapped at both ends, with all the live beer running into Philadelphia and New York." -- Ben Franklin

yay then no worrying about gas lol
it's so diff from where I live where the closest grocery store is miles away haha
so in general do you guys like living in this kind of environment??

North Jersey is a really nice area, just places like Newark and Camden aren't.

lol@ steven

what about manhattan??
also my parents think that it is too dangerous to live in new york

it's not dangerous to live in the city, just don't act like you don't know where you are.

Steven and Ben be haters.

"you can always find steam coming out of some manhole. " ---lol can you clarify this? sorry if i'm slow...

Well, steam comes out of the manholes on the street lol. Can't be much clearer than that. And another thing, construction is ALWAYS being done

manholes??

oh and what about the accents??

http://www.amherst.ny.us/graphics/engineering/sewer/manhole.jpg that's a manhole

ohh thanks for the picture lol
i've never heard anyone use that term before
