How's my PSAT score? Am I on track for NMF?

Well, I am a freshman in High Schools. I got my PSAT scores yesterday. Here they are:
Total: 193
CR: 57
Math: 80
Writing: 56 (didn't finish. Got 1 out of 5 on last 5 questions)

Do you guys think I am on track for National Merit Finalist when I become a Junior?

I think you have a good shot. I got 195 Soph. year, so you’re well ahead of me.

And despite the score above, my Junior score is in the 99th percentile. If I can do it, you can DEFINITELY do it!

im a junior, idk what i got yet but as a sophmore i got a 178. math- 68 CR/W- 55… but on my SAT last month i got a 2150 math- 790 reading 650 w- 710… you definitely have a chance… im hoping for a fat 220 on the psat!

195 as a freshman is a good score. If you are in Texas, this year’s cutoff was 219.

My son improved 29 points from Sophomore PSAT to this year’s test that counted (220)…so yes, can be done with some effort.

Definitely on track, probably even for a 2350+ if you put in a lot of effort.

Thanks guys, that boosted my confidence.

4 of my friends got like 205 as Freshman o.o, so I felt like I had a bad score.

you’re totally on track- i got a 213 sophomore year, a 229 junior year and a 2350 on the sat with little prep work, so your score will go up naturally with time. if your sophomore score is still lower than you’d like then you have a year to prepare for the junior psat, so you don’t have to worry about this at all for a while :)
