I hope to get into a good medical school one day, and I’m really interested in Stevens for pre-med. I don’t think I’d do the accelerated pre-med, but I would probably major in biology. Does anyone know what the program is like? The fact that it’s a tech school makes me unsure of how popular the pre-med path is there. Any information would be appreciated!
Sorry no one has answered your question. Have you visited the campus? Maybe you could arrange a tour with someone who is currently a student in that major.
I have looked at some of your prior posts. Overall, I do not think that SIT is a cost-effective plan when one plans on going on to medical school. If you are a top student and feel you could get a substantial scholarship, it would be something to consider. If you are not, I would advise you to consider additional options for pre-med education. It is a long and expensive road, even if you do your undergraduate years at a public school.
So visit the school, take a tour, and ask a lot of questions. I would still apply to Stevens, but I would cast a wide net when applying to colleges in order to see all of your options.
DD has friends that are doing Biomedical Engineering / premed. They love it. I think it covers all the premed classes and you end up with Biomed engineering degree. Definitely hard but the kids love it. Over the summer they were working on 3d printing prosthetic hands.
