How's recruiting at Wesleyan?

For i-banking, your BB's like J.P. Morgan, Goldman, Barcap, etc.

I've read it's strong, but is it comparable to a school like say, Cornell?

I can’t really answer that question directly; I wasn’t an Econ major, but my understanding is that it is one of the more popular majors (I think it’s right up there with Film Studies, English, and Neuroscience) and someone on the alumni listserv flagged this article in today’s NYTimes featuring Wesleyan alumna, Diana Farrell, `87, and two other economic advisors in the Obama administration:
[Trench Warfare on Financial Reform - Send in the Deputies - NYTimes.com](http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/18/business/18regs.html?pagewanted=3&ref=us)

According to the article, Ms. Farrell started as an analyst at Goldman-Sachs and went on to become a consultant for McKinsey. She got her MBA from Harvard, so it’s unclear whether she was recruited directly out of Wesleyan or after graduate school; 85% of Wesleyan students go on to some sort of graduate training within five years of graduation. Suffice it to say, that when a school produces alumni at that level of influence, there are probably others toiling at less well-pubicized venues, too.
