I'm going for Finance probably.

Does anyone know if this School has a good Business program?

I'm going for Finance probably.

I hear it's top notch.

Yeah?

Their requirements to get in as Transfer student don't seem tough at all.

Kelley is one of the best.

Good school for business and very easy to get into.

"Good school for business and very easy to get into."

Ouch. That always hurts XD

I think I have a good safety now!

It's true though. Of all the top 10 business schools in the nation, Kelley is by far the easiest to get into.

That's better Nick ;)

But Berkeley, UNC, Georgetown, and UIUC are all better schools and getting into their B-schools is much much harder. However, they are ranked below Kelley.

What are my chances with these Stats:

A little background on myself: I'm currently 22 years old, US Permanent Resident (Green Card), Hispanic. I went to an American School (K-12) in my home country El Salvador. To be honest I didn't do well in High School. I graduated in Fall 2003. I worked for about 3 years and then got into college, Bemidji State University (Minnesota), and I'm doing great right now and I want to transfer to a good Business School (Finance).

That's 2006.. check out 2007

With those stats, you're definatley in. Shouldn't be a problem.

Why don't you aim higher though? Kelley should be a safety.

Yeah I have Kelley as a safety...

I'll try and aim higher but the problem is that if they ask for HS Transcripts (82/100 GPA) and SATs (800/1600) I won't be competitive enough compared to other schools. So I'll give it a try with tougher universities, but I'll have Kelley as a safety.

Do you have any recommendations for Reaches/Matches?

You have some pretty good work experience there and a very good college GPA. Are you applying for a junior year transfer? Or Sophomore? If its your junior year transfer then I think your High School stuff doesn't matter much. You have showed progress over the years and I think that's the most important part. Some reaches might be Texas, UNC, and UIUC might be a match. If you're applying for sophomore transfer, then I think Kelley should be a match/safety.

@MightyNick

I'll be entering Fall 2008 as Junior.

Some ask for HS Transcript/SATs... if I'm competing against similarly qualifies students dont you think they'll look at HS GPA/SATs ?

Yes they'll look at it but your college GPA, essays and work experience will matter more than what you did in High School.

I would say Kelley is a match.

All the programs above Kelley would be difficult to get into - Ross, Wharton , Haas , Sloan etc.

Perhaps Tepper , Stern are matches....if they dont ask for SAT scores that is :p.

Stern is as competitive as Ross.

if not more competitive =)
