How's the College of Business?

Anybody know good/bad aspects of it? I’m thinking about going. Thanks for any responses!

Well I dont really know so all I can give you is hearsay but Bama is supposedly the best school for business around here.

My d will be going to Auburn in the fall. She is currently in the International Business Academy at her high school and studied in Costa Rica last summer. Her current plan is to study international business (Spanish minor). One thing we really liked about Auburn’s BS is that they have a separate study abroad and internship abroad program from the University in total. When she went to Costa Rica, the museum stuff was okay but what she really liked was visiting corporations and seeing how they operate. She may decide to switch to Supply Chain Mgmt–and we were happy to see that this is found in the school of business–other schools link it to other colleges–engineering, liberal arts. when we were at AU, we also talked to students who transferred out of business majors–mostly because they didn’t understand what marketing, finance, etc. was. AU said they were ranked 24th in public university business schools in the country (undergrad)

One thing that drew my D to the College of Business at AU was their minor in Business-Engineering-Technology program done in concert with the College of Engineering.

[Business-Engineering-Technology Program](http://www.eng.auburn.edu/BET/)

The program educates top Business and Engineering students to work together in a team environment. One project management team gets travel expenses+ to go to the U.K. or India for work/study in an international environment.

Only if around here is Birmingham… I think that the rest of the nation regards Auburn’s Business School much more highly. At least thats the feeling that I get in Boston.

Who said that AU was ranked 24th in the country for its undergrad business school? That is just not true. I know that UA and AU are tied in US News annual rankings, while UA is ahead in Forbes and Bloomberg, and AU is ahead in another. But neither is ranked as high as 24th in the nation.

UA
[University of Alabama News UA Ranked Among U.S. News? Top 50 Public Universities](http://uanews.ua.edu/2010/08/ua-ranked-among-u-s-news’-top-50-public-universities/)
“In addition to the overall rankings, UA’s Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration is ranked 35th among business schools at public universities and 57th among business schools at all universities.”

AU

Its College of Business undergraduate program ranked 24th among public schools and 42nd in the nation, up from 57th.

Ditto above, from abtsmom’s original quote, atributed to AU:
"AU said they were ranked 24th in public university business schools in the country (undergrad) "
This is correct, in terms of Public U’s.
