How's the computer engineering in UCSD compare to UCLA? Which is better? Any difference between them?

Thanks.

How's the computer engineering in UCSD compare to UCLA? Which is better? Any difference between them?

Thanks.

By the ranking UCLA has a little higher than UCSD. But I heard UCSD has better program. (ranking involves lots of factors, not just how good the program is) I also see UCSD engineering in the world jumps a loooot. UCLA drops a loooot.

Which is better from your point of view? Why?

UCSD is good enough in computer engineering for any prospective employer to think twice about you should you complete your degree in computer engineering @ UCSD. So, don't worry about it! Also, any difference between the supposed "prestige" of UCLA and UCSD's programs is negligible at the undergraduate level.

Anyone that's also got UCLA or UCBerkeley, but end up going to UCSD? What's your reason?

well i got in to Berkeley but I turned it down cuz of the fact that it's really far from where i live (didn't want to make my parents drive for 16 hours in total just to pick me up). i also felt that UCSD would be a better option since it does seem like it would be relatively easier to get a higher GPA @ UCSD. But this is just an assumption so it's not the best reason to base a decision after. In the end, I don't think I'll ever regret choosing UCSD over Berkeley. So excited for the Fall!

Any other reason besides easier?

The good looking girls at UCLA might take away time from studying.

cpthk:

Keep in mind that most UCSD students won't be able to answer your question since they never went to UCLA and vice versa.

Realistically, both programs are very similar and afford similar opportunities. Don't expect that CS at UCSD will be easier than UCLA.
