How many were you able to miss and still get an 800? thanks

one last bump

Yeah, I hope it's quite a few myself. Though I think the Princeton Review Book says that if you're scaled is like 80 or 81, maybe 79, you get an 800. So like 3 or 4.

4 or 5? Lord Jesus I hope so!

the curve SUCKS....to many native speaker acing the test...!

get ONE wrong and get a 780.

I'm a native speaker and even I thought it was kind of hard.

why do native speakers take these tests..it doesn't look good at all to colleges

according to the REAL SAT booklket...
for spanish reading u can miss 3 and get a 800 and get 65/85 for a 700

for spanish listening its virtrually the same

Really?! I've never heard such thing. Anyone else know anything?

I asked that question a while ago, and I think the concensus was this: If you get an 800 it looks good, but if you get lower, it doesn't. I think that's too black and white though. After all, is there really such a big diff. between a 770 and an 800?

I agree. Maybe the colleges will use the percentiles instead?

That seems much more reasonable. Also, from the real SAT II book that I got, it appears that for that particular administration, a raw score of an 80 was still an 800.

Which test is easier.... Just the Reading SPanish or the Reading and Listening

also does it look much better to do the listening?
thanks.

I'm doing with listening... I've heard that for the listening, the speakers talk extremely slow and are easy to understand, so hopefuly it should be easy points. But from practice test books, I've seen the curve is harsher with listening than it is without. But like I said, if the speakers are really that easy to understand it makes up for it.

At least for the few colleges I've looked into, that's true. It makes sense, because a native speaker (generally) would be at an advantage on the test, whereas the questions wouldn't come nearly as easy for people who only studied that language in school classes... And colleges know this; for example, here's a quote from Harvard's website:

"Candidates whose native language is not English should not take an SAT II test in their native language as one of the three required tests."

That can't be good... :( Not only is Harvard my first choice, but I only scored a measley 770 on the Spanish Test. Should I retake the test? I really can't see myself doing good in any other subjects (My other SAT II's will be US History and Biology).

Nothing bad will happen if I retake the spanish test right? Since colleges only take the highest score anyways...

Okay, I've decided that I'm going to retake the the Spanish Test. When I register for it, can I select four other colleges to have my scores sent to?

BrightFuture, are you Hispanic? Because 770 is definitely not a bad score at all, even for Harvard (where I'm also applying)... I also don't think 770 is a bad score if you ARE Hispanic, because its not a given that just because someone is, they'll automatically get an 800.

do u need a cd player or a walkman for the listening? cd right..?
