Is it all pretty standard college cafeteria fare, or something better?

we just got some new catering company for the freshmen campus, so it should be better next year.

i personally plan to sue the outgoing company and duke for a) starvation b) trauma after i graduate. (im vegetarian and after endure pizza and pasta EVERY FREAKING DAY)

I'm veg. too. I was there for the BSAI weekend and I had a really hard time finding food. I lost 5 pounds in 4 days! I plan on attending next year so I'm pretty happy their changing the food, b/c it was pretty bad. I thought that they would try and impress us by serving us different food or something but they didn't.

It's a bit different from the three-meals-a-day-all-you-can-eat-in-the-cafeteria system, especially after freshman year. It's a bit hard to explain, check this out for details: http://auxweb.duke.edu/Dining/index.html

Overall, the dining system is pretty good, probably not the best nor the worst. We'll see what happens with ARAMARK's contract situation after this year, hopefully the food will improve next year.

I think the cafeteria food could be improved, but the dining system as a whole is actually pretty good - for example, you can order pizza, subs, chinese food, etc and have it delivered to your dorm, and charge it to your meal plan.
