I'm a HUGE gamer, 360 mainly. Just wondering what the gaming life is at Cornell? Any big gamers out there? Any kind of gaming club or are there any LAN parties at Cornell?

Hopefully someone might know.

Btw, I'm not talking about ppl who play games like now and again, but I'm talking "hardcore" son. XBL and stuff.

People tend to play DOTA, alot. I know there are usually LAN parties in Dickson's computer lounge for computer games. I brought my Xbox 360 first semester along with Rock Band, and we played a bunch, especially Friday nights, but I'm leaving Rock Band home this semester; it takes up too much space. There are people who are very into games, though. My suitemate is in the Digital Gaming Alliance, and they usualy have parties. Hope that helps.

plenty of opportunities!!! especially on west since you can borrow games and ps3/wii from the service desk. i mainly dont do those, i play internet games. i played a mmorpg in freshman year. i woke up at 7 , brush up and everything, play for 20 minutes, go to class
i brought my laptop so i can play in fws also cause there was good internet connection and the teacher couldn't see my screen since she faced me. then i get bcak to dorm and continue playing. i definitely tihnk i got plenty of gaming hours per day that term lol

i had to quit cause the server shut down -.- and cause my gpa dropped .4 points... dont thikn i'll start again since i want to get into a med school.. that term already seriously cost me haha!

Oops double post, anyways to answer the q about internet cap...you can use more than 10gb, but they charge you extra by the mb, i think its like $.003/mb, but it should be somewhere on cornell's website.

I am bringing my 360, but I only play it like once or twice a week so not worried about it hurting my grades. Don't play online either, but a friend of mine from home was a halo 3 addict and it murdered his gpa. I'm more concerned with watching episodes of shows i download distracting me.

I hope Valve is really popular around the PC gaming people at Cornell. Left 4 Dead, TF2, etc...

And seriously OP...."Btw, I'm not talking about ppl who play games like now and again, but I'm talking "hardcore" son. XBL and stuff."

Just no. Xbox Live is mainly populated now by annoying preteens and young highschool people. I know from experience, I had a 360, I went through it all, its horrible compared to PC, especially the $50 a year. PC is where the hardcore is at, along with classic consoles. And also I'd like to see your 360 pump out Crysis at all "very high" and see diffusion of the colors when you look at objects from under water, that's right, physics.
