Im not too happy about going to UC Davis. My first choice was UCSD, but even though there are kids who got in with less impresive applications, i was, sadly, rejected. Now i have hopes of an equally greater future at UC Davis!! I never partyed in high school or anything, so the party scene doesn't really appeal to me. Instead does anybody have any cool Davis experiences or insights they would like to share with me? This would cheer me up a lot.

From my experiences here, I love it. It’s not a really a party school, so that’s something you’d find comfortable about this school. People are really nice and mellow and help you out. In almost all classes I’ve taken so far, a kind soul would make a study guide (or upload the study guide the professor handed out in class) on Google Docs so that the whole class could collaborate on it–if an answer is wrong, someone will post the correct answer while explaining why the previous answer was wrong. It just shows that students here aren’t so competitive, but are willing to help out fellow students. On weekends, you can go downtown, go to the ARC, hang out with your roommates (if you get along with them. My roommates and I hang out together all the time, and we didn’t even know each other prior to coming to UCD), etc. If you bring a car (freshmen can’t get parking permits, but you can park along Wake Forest Drive behind the Cuarto dorms or along Russell Blvd), you can even drive to Sacramento or San Francisco if you’d like.
