i recently got accepted to the university of connecticut-storrs. I was just wondering what life was like for students at uconn and if they are happy there overall.

ever been to storrs? well it sucks, a lot actually. its isolated, boring, and cold as crap. want to bring a car to campus? too bad, you need 54 credits for that, that is unless you live off campus. normally that wouldnt be a problem except there is nowhere to live off campus hence 87% of all undergrads, not just underclassmen live on campus. go somewhere that isnt a 20 minute drive into the middle of nowhere

wow kyle, bitter much?

that bad huh?

hgold: i have known MANY MANY MANY people who have gone to uconn and are currently there and i would say 99.99% LOVE the school. it has a great reputation academically as of late, and you will see uconn climb higher and higher in the rankings. great social life- very fun school. it is in the middle of nowhere, but when you have a campus of 15,000, there are always tons of things to do, plus always huge name speakers, concerts, etc, not to mention the best basketball program in the country (mens and womens) and an up and coming football program.
there are many programs and departments that are among the top in the country, and the honors program is top notch as well (you need a 1400 SAT).

hows the food and dorms there ?

Look up my other posts on the food and dorms. I've discussed it before. Even though it is in the middle of nowhere there is tons to do everywhere, and you will not be bored unless you sit in your room doing nothing. The school is really on the uprise as stated above, and in general all of the professors will do everything they can so that you can suceed.
