Currently at FSU, and pursuing law school in the near future. I know a lot about our school here, but what are your guys' opinions on Levin? If there are any law students here who can give some input, that'd be great as well.

My Daughter applied and was accepted. We took the tour together. Just under went beautiful upgrades.

They just changed to only Fall admission only so there is a bump of 200 people. That needs to work through. You need at least 158 on your LSAT.

1L is very stressful year good luck. Screaming into a pillow is common.

Not sure what you wish to know.

Sorry, should have clarified my inquiry a bit more.

How does she like the professors? How are the admitted students personality-wise? Are they all gunners or good people?

No matter which law school you attend the first year is the same. Crim-pro, torts, contracts, con law and so on. My D refers to law school as HS all over again. I belive that there is a facebook group-- law school is HS. People get all crazy about clicks and who didn't get invited to board game night. blaah. There are good professors and boring professors. It is competive no matter where you go to school.

My S has a friend who's father is a well known lawyer in FL. His advice to her was to go to the best school that you are admitted to, in the state you wish to practice. Unless you know you want to go into enviromental law then FSU...tax law UF. If you aspire to do NY law or US government work in DC look at the school's out of state placement rates.

Unless you have the grades and LSAT to get into a top16, this advice will hold. Top 16 you can go anywhere and work anywhere.

She liked FSU law better ---small class, the interaction with the captial and supreme court. UF is having to deal with this bump in enrollment.

UF Law is underrated. It only dropped from 41st to 47th because they had to combine the Fall & Spring Classes. The Dean has promised the rankings will rebound to the 2006 levels.

Well that sucks about the high school thing, I was hoping that once you hit 22-years-old life isn't all about a popularity contest. I guess people need to look for some kind of social hierarchy no matter what.

But from what I've read about the academics, UF is pretty damn solid. Same with FSU. Miami biglaw is paying pretty good these days, so I'd assume that if I graduate top 15-20%, I can land a sweet gig in SoFL. Of course I'd like to get into a t-14, but my stats suck relatively speaking.

It is pretty funny.....but sad
